“For Colored Girls,” based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play, is the emotional story (told through poems) of several women of color who come together because of rape, abortion, abandonment, HIV infection, and murder.
A well-acted drama (directed by Tyler Perry) with an all-star cast including Kimberly Elise, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, and Thandie Newton.
